Stratford Circlets Children’s Festival

Date: Sunday 16 November
Tickets: £3 for each event unless stated otherwise

A full festival day of fabulous theatre and activities for the whole family. Tickets for all events are just £3, with additional free events in and around Stratford Circus and climaxing with a special Comedy 4 Kids performance by James Campbell at 5pm. Come and join in the fun! Delicious food will be served throughout the day at Circus Eats.

Objects Dart: Little Red Riding Hood (11am) FREE
This much-loved tale of the little girl with the red cape and cap who meets a wolf in the forest is told using object theatre, puppetry, shadows and live music.

Horseplay (11am/12.30pm/2pm/3.30pm)
Set in a horse’s stable, Horseplay is a magical multi-sensory world where anything might happen. The children take over, as their creative play becomes the performance. Parents watch the unfolding story through nooks and crannies in the stable wall. Guaranteed to thrill children and please parents too!

Circo Ridiculoso: Lighter than Air (12pm)
Enter the strange and bizarre universe of a wild balloon tamer, where surreal and stupid things happen. Combining circus and comedy, performer and clown Danny Schlesinger (pictured), creates an utterly joyous experience, loaded with participation, surprises and laughs. Warning: features loud balloon pops!

Bare Toed Dance: Bare Toed in the Garden (1.30pm)
Bare Toed in the Garden weaves together movement play, dance, trapeze and music to create the magic of a year in a fantastic garden. The bare toed performers move around a specially designed set to fly, swing and dance through the rhythms and changes of the seasons, accompanied by live music.

Bare Toed workshop (2.30pm free with show ticket - capacity limited) The performance is followed by a workshop for up to thirty children, exploring the themes of the show through music and dance, as well as providing an opportunity for children to hang on the trapeze!

Francesca Beard: Animal Olympics (3pm)
Francesca’s brilliant and funny show introduces Dragon, Rabbit, Tiger and all the stars of the Chinese Zodiac in an Olympic-sized talent show! Who wins? Your vote decides! Featuring slinky storytelling, puppets, sparkling songs and a pair of magic pants!

James Campbell’s Comedy 4 Kids (5pm)
Warm up your funny bones for this exclusive performance by the world’s only stand-up comedian for children. James’ unique style covers everything from parents to PlayStations, why we have hair and what he had for breakfast. Top quality stuff for anyone who likes comedy without the rude words.

The Insect Circus Museum
Stroll up for the magnificent Insect Circus Museum! Housed in a beetle-box lorry outside Stratford Circus, push-button mechanical models, dancing snails, wasp tamers and balancing bugs feature in a rare treat for all ages.

The Bearded Lady
Marvel as the Bearded Lady and her alter egos roam the corridors and spaces of Stratford Circus with magnificent costumes and magic tricks!

Danny Schlesinger
Danny will mix and mingle, creating fantastic balloon sculptures and crazy things to wear, adding colour and fun to the day.
