Writing for Theatre and Screen

This course is for those who would like to develop writing skills for either of the visual mediums – theatre or film. The course focuses on script structure ,development of dramatic characters, creation of dramatic conflict, pace, tempo and rhythm.

The varying demands of the theatrical and cinematic media are identified and addressed.

At the end of term, there is a public performance of a rehearsed reading of the work, produced during the course.

Students are expected to commit to all ten Saturdays and work in their own time between sessions. Access to a computer at home would be very helpful, too.

This class and the Method Acting class culminates in a public sharing on 16th and 17th July 2008.
